Department of Civil Engineering

The department of civil engineering was establishment in 1983 with the inception of the institute. It offers an undergraduate course in civil engineering with an intake capacity of 120 students and post graduate course in structural engineering with intake capacity of 18 students and research work facility for 15 Ph.D. Scholars. The department is twice accredited by NBA and ISO 9001:2015 certified.

The department has 13 most advanced and well equipped laboratories which are recognized for carrying out doctoral research work by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. The department of Civil Engineering of the Institute is one of the oldest and richest departments by virtue of highly qualified and experienced faculty. The state of the art infrastructure facilities attracted many students and researchers to this department throughout the country.

Vision

Mission
To improve continually our teaching- learning process, create stimulating environment and enhance research activities in Civil Engineering field to satisfy needs of students, industries and society and establish as centre of excellence.

Program Outcomes (POs)
Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

The Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs) of the Computer Science & Engineering students will able to:
Identify, design, develop, test and manage reliable and efficient application/System software as per user requirements.
Possess professional skills and knowledge in the construction of software’s for varying complexity in design processes.
Meet the industry requirements in creating innovative career paths for immediate employment and higher studies.
